At our Peace Circle in Oxford (31 October to 5 December 2007) we were a group who had come together through a chain of links and friendships. We were all interested in peace, on many different levels. Between us we covered a wide range of backgrounds, ages and experience.

From Sudan to Sydney, women are addressing the underlying issues of division and dysfunction in families and communities. Jean Brown, an international coordinator of Creators of Peace International, writes:

The Vice-President of the South Sudan Regional Assembly, Dr Riek Machar, opened a five-day workshop in Juba led by a team from IofC's Creators of Peace programme. The workshop, in October, was for members of the Regional Assembly, the National Assembly in Khartoum and for peace and social activists. Angelina Teny, Deputy Minister for Petroleum and Energy, hosted the team from eight countries who were visiting South Africa, Kenya and Sudan during September and October to conduct a series of women's 'Creators of Peace Circles'.

Fifty women from many backgrounds gathered in Belmore Community Centre on Sunday 12th August for the annual get-together of Peace Circles from around suburban Sydney.
