The Gandhi ‘Voyage of Dialogue and Discovery’, began last week in Jakarta, Indonesia. The journey will take Professor Gandhi, President of IofC International, his wife Usha, and teams accompanying them to countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle-East, Europe and the Americas, in his words, ‘with a hope for honest dialogue and a desire for collaboration’. The second annual Tools for Change KL took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, March 2010, organised by PICCSO (Performance Improvement Centre for Civil Society Organisations), a programme branch of IofC Malaysia. The 80 attending came from NGOs and IofC teams in Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia, and individuals from countries as far apart as China, America and Australia.

Three generations joined the faculty of the recent Life Matters Course in Melbourne, Australia, 5-14 February.

The fifth Parliament of the World’s Religions took place in Melbourne, 3–9 December 2009, with over 6,000 from 200 countries representing all the world’s major faiths. Part religious festival, part pageant, the Parliament was above all a massive conference and meeting of hearts, minds and spirits.

Jacques Chirac Foundation Prize for Conflict Prevention awarded to the Imam Ashafa and the Pastor Wuye, in the presence of Kofi Annan and Nicolas Sarkozy.

The 5th Creators of Peace International Conference took place in Sydney, Australia, 30 September – 4 October. A programme of Initiatives of Change, Creators of Peace is a women’s initiative which challenges and empowers women to become active peace-makers. It works partly through the methodology of ‘Peace Circles’ which have been trialed or established in 25 countries around the world. This conference brought some of these women together.
