Initiatives of Change is a network of people and programs committed to building trust across the world's divides. It comprises people of diverse cultures, nations, beliefs and backgrounds who are committed to transforming society through change in individuals and relationships, starting in their own lives.
Formerly known as Moral Re-Armament, IofC works to build relationships of trust between Australia's diverse ethnic and religious communities through conferences, dialogues and workshops. IofC has a long track record of working for reconciliation and understanding between indigenous and other Australians. IofC Australia also actively supports initiatives to end conflict and fight corruption in the Solomon Islands, Fiji and Papua New Guinea including Bougainville, and is working to build a constructive partnership with Indonesia.
IofC is a spiritually-based movement which encourages everyone to be true to their highest ideals and the core values of honesty, purity, unselfishness and love which are found in all the great religious traditions of the world. Through focusing on how we live, rather than just on what we believe, and cultivating habits of listening in silence to the inner voice of wisdom and conscience, change becomes a reality, starting with ourselves.
